SODRAT
I tried going spotlighting on my own (walking) the other night and found it nigh on impossible to hold light and shoot stuff..............found an old spotlight in my shed and thought, surely i can use this instead of spending MORE money. i could have spent a lot of time "manufacturing" something, but it has been a bit warm down here the last cupla' days. Anyway, i ended up finding something in one of those $2 shops. Except that it cost me a whopping $6.50 Totally portable and changeable to other rifles if required, for another $6.50. Check this out. SODRAT
What battery are you using Sodrat? it is just a battery u can buy from any tackle shop etc. for prawning or floundering, it is 12V 7.0 amp hour, it only cost $35. yesterday i replaced the 55w globe with a 100w globe, big improvement, the battery still lasted ages, i carry it around in an old bumbag i used to use motorbike riding, never throw anything out. TKB
Good stuff there. Thanks for sharing. Does it affect the scope/accuracy at all?
SODRAT
thanks for posting that info SODRAT i have a similar spotty and have been trying to come up with a way of mounting it to a scope for ages, im going to get one of those setups and give it a try. thanks mate Geoffro now that i know it works, i would probably spend a bit more on a better quality unit (steel instead of plastic), maybe $8 or $9! i also think that u might be better off trying a bicycle shop or similar. although it works well enough for me, my unit is only cheap chinese (i guess) plastic and is not what i would call "robust", you get what u pay for eh. But if i wanted to spend money, i would have spent $150 on a full mojo unit. The ciggy plug to battery lead i got from kmart for 10 bucks. it doesn't seem to have effected accuracy or balance, but saying that, i was already a crap shot anyway. Sodrat.
